Generally, there are two ways to cultivate crops called Rain-fed farming and irrigation. Rain-fed farming as the name shows that when crops get water by rainfall. But if rain does not happen as it was expected or areas come under less likely to rain then the artificial application of water is followed.
Areas where rain cannot approach regularly or water-hungry crops are required more water than usual; it requires going with creativity so that most can get out of it. Generally, Irrigation needs surface/groundwater to farms to hydrate thirsty plants. Though there are many options to do irrigate but each farmer has its preference and budget regarding agricultural irrigation equipment.
